Due to the potential of a lockout season in 2011, the NFL has extended its contract with Electronic Arts through 2013, making Madden the only sports franchise with the NFL license for at least the next three years. EA CEO John Riccitiello acknowledged a recent report by the Sports Business Journal yesterday at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference in San Francisco. He said the report is "largely true," saying EA did negotiate with the NFL to extend the current deal. The publisher will also pay less license royalty fees for next season in the event of a lockout.

With that in mind, I was excited to hear from Activision this week that Transformers: War for Cybertron developers High Moon will bring the official game for Transformers: Dark of the Moon to Xbox 360 and PS3 this summer.
